1998 marked the 9th
anniversary of the Miss Perfection of the Year Pageant, which began in 1990 in St.
Petersburg. The competition started small and featured 2 rounds only: Physique and
Compulsories. The first Miss Perfection title went to Helena Ryapolova.
In 1991 Moscow played host to the
second pageant. The Miss Perfection 91 competition included 3 phases: Physique,
Compulsories and Style.
Tatyana Karpushina was named the
winner. In 1991 Shaping show groups competition was incorporated into the pageant's
routine.
In 1992-93 the pageant was held in St.
Petersburg. Helena Ryapolova made a fantastic comeback and stole the competition.
Anna Kiryashova was named the best in
1994.
MISS PERFECTION 95 fell to Anna
Bochkova. The Miss Perfection competition saw a new round added: Beauty Care. To become
the winner, one should be Well Shaped, Gracious and Glamorous. For the first time in
history, the winner was awarded a trophy made by Anton Vetchinkin, a St. Petersburg
sculptor. St. Petersburg hosted Miss Perfection 95 Pageant.
Again, in 1996 Anna Kiryashova scored
the highest point and became an overall titleholder.
In 1996 there was established a new
award to commemorate brilliance and unique talent of Anna Filatova, the late co-designer
of the Shaping Choreography concept. Since 1996 Shaping show groups have been competing
for the award.
Miss Perfection 97 held in St.
Petersburg introduced a new slogan: You are Worthy of Admiration! Natalya Gavrilova got
the highest score and placed first.
The Miss Perfection 98 judging system
was changed to meet a new Shaping competition goal: spiritual advancement. From now on to
win a delegate should get a score higher than her own previous competition scores. With
this innovation the competition has a different feel to it. Natalya Gavrilova became an
overall titleholder. She surpassed her last year results and
got the highest scores (71.8) throughout the pageant's history |
